This project was for a client who is selling marketing contacts to companies targeting specific customers. They wanted a selection tool where their customers could select exactly the type of data they wanted. The tool should be integrated in their usual wordpress environment, it shold be easy to edit certain functionality, texts and messages as well as the data used. The data for the formular is retrieved from SQL databases and can be updated through an interface in the wordpress admin dashboard as well as the previously mentioned other functionalities and texts. After the customer selects the desired criteria the product is dynamically created and added to the woocommerce cart from where the normal checkout process can continue. The purchased data can then be downloaded as a csv file via a link that is sent to the customer or through the user area after logging in on the website. The tool itself is programmed as a react standalone application that can then be integrated into the wordpress website at any location. All functionality extending wordpress is put into a new plugin, so it's clean and easy to turn the feature on or off. Communication with another backend is established over an API where the real data lies for the creation of the csv documents.

A react native application to track all your interactions with other human beings. It is basically a diary and an address book in one. In your diary entries, people can be tagged. Those people can be connected to your various messaging or social media channels so you have easy access to those conversations from one place. Also, places can be added to people as well as to diary entries which can then be displayed on a map, so you can see who is or has been to a town you're visiting next.

Future functionalities include:

• Syncing to a backend server
• sharing contacts
• creating and exporting lists of people, eg for invitations
• linking with an image server, so images can be automatically added to diary entries

This first started as a lovable project. I wanted to try out the capabilities of an AI app builder. Soon the limits were reached, but I continued developing it myself since I like the idea of having my own productivity tool. I've been trying out a number of different project management tools and CRMs but nothing quite felt right.
The application has the following features:
- works for muliple clients.
- basic kanban board with some extra funk.
- possibility to paste images in task descriptions.
- create invoices complying with german ZUGFeRD standard.
- tracking time and assigning it directly to a task.
- completely offline with the database in the user app directory, so it's easy to transfer and take backups

While working for World Central Kitchen in Armenia, providing food for forcibly displaced people after the war in Artsakh, I got to experience the system they use to get the food from the kitchen to the people in need. One evening I decided to come up with a simple view to manage the delivery boxes the food gets packaged in, the total number of meals and an estimation for the kitchen on how many more meals need to be prepared. You can see the first draft on laposolutions.de/wck. The View is just functional for now and not very pretty, but has already proven successful and is now awaiting improvement to be used for more operations of WCK.

One of my clients is a real estate management company. They use Vtiger open source as their CRM (Customer Relationship Management) system. I take care of the software and continuously extend functionality by adding new features or customising the software to my clients needs. One of the challenges was to handle my predecessors changes to the core of the software that made updates of vtiger not possible.

We are building a system that disrupts the lottery market cross countries to fund climate projects. Check it out here. There is so much I learnt in the process of setting up a business and creating our own product. For the product we are mainly using react and react native with files hosted on our own apache server and the database (dynamodb) and functions being hosted on AWS.

I was asked to build an online store for glasses using wordpress and woocommerce. The exciting part is that there are many custom features to be built, which means creating plugins or customising exisiting ones. The staging site can be seen on You can have a look here.
Custom features are:

• the possibility to add and order produts for a home trial,
• a customised mega menu and product filter which are mobile friendly,
• a floating cart that shows selected product variations and
• many other smaller customisations.

Being in Budapest at the beginning of the war in the Ukraine I ended up being part in the setup and management of a refugee shelter. Currently using google spreadsheets to keep track of who is in the shelter and how many free beds we have every night the need for a more efficient system became obvious. I did not finish this project due to less fluctuation of our guests over time, which made it very well manageable via spreadsheets. I did finish setting up the backend, and spent some time already planning the frontend architecture! It was a fun project accompanied with a good cause.

As mentioned earlier I am very passionate about self-hosting. The Raspberry Pi is a perfect tool to try out first steps in your own server setup. And for most every-day tasks it is sufficient by far.

My setup is hosting four different websites, two backends with APIs for some Apps, a VPN server, two Cloud servers, an authentication server and some other little things I play around with.
A Raspberry Pi 4 with 4GB RAM is directly connected to the router. It hosts most applications and forwards some intensive tasks like the cloud to a Raspberry Pi 3B+, which has some external storage connected where the data is being kept. Additionally there is a Pi Zero in the network which I use for trying out new ideas and projects.

A next step here will be to install another server at a different place, for example a friends or relative home which works as a backup for the existing setup and also it might be cool to have some load balancing.

Nowadays most authentification processes are run via a third party like google, github, facebook or others. I wanted to dig in and know more about how the whole process works. To setup everything by yourself is a very complicated task, especially if you want to stay compliant with international security guidelines. So first I worked with Ory which I really like for how they approach and build things. Click on their logo below to get to thier website.

But unfortunately their solution is not made public yet, so I looked for a different, similar solution. I found FusionAuth and got it implemented on my own server. Now multiple applications can use this Authentification server for identifying and authorizing users via different methods like 2 Factor Authentification. As you are reading this you successfully made it to my portfolio website. Nice! This website is 100% homemade. No external plugins or frameworks are being used, it's all pure HTML, CSS and some JS and PHP written by me. Of course this makes it more complicated but also more interesting for me since everything wants to be understood fully before being implemented. I like a simple website the user can understand quickly maybe with some fun non-confusing features added. Design is not my strongest ability but I am happy with the color scheme of dark blue and the not so white white, everything aligned on one site.

Some of the features you might not even notice:

• Of course responsive design that alos looks good and works on mobile devices.
• The boxes with the services and projects are loaded in dynamically by a little snippet of PHP from a JSON file.
• The boxes open a modal window, as you found out already, and close on clicking outside the modal.
• There are some links to my contact form to which it scrolls down smoothly.
• The contact form labels animate to the top of the box and back if you focus or unfocus an input area.
• The input areas change color on being focused
• The input area for your ideas and wishes expands automatically as you go on writing.
• There is a status message showing up after you click the submit button to indicate the successful transmission.
• The submission of the form is handled by a php script on the server and sends the message to my email inbox

As my beloved grandma moved out from her house into an elderly home, everything was packed up and stored away. It was difficult to keep track of everything and also to know what is where and it would be a shame if things are not used again and just sit in storage all time! That's why I created a simple inventory app, that can store a title and description, along with the type of the item, the current location and some pictures. This was one of my first projects with many iterations also across different platforms. So I developed this app for windows desktop, cross platform in react and in java as an app for android.

As I'm travelling I meet many very interesting and lovely people. In order to keep track of our encounters and their stories as well as the usual contact information, the contacts app on my phone is not enough. I want to create something like a mix of a diary and a contacts book. At the moment, I'm currently in the design phase for this project.

A popular option for self hosted cloud solutions is Nextcloud. It is open source, offers multiple users, file sharing, synchronisation, calendar and many more functionalities you choose by using plugins.

There are multiple options for installing it and I tried out most of them. The instance has now been running since 2015 and is being used by around 10 people. The files are being backed up incrementally, so even in case of something going wrong everything can be restored. In 2021 the cloud transitioned from the Pi3 to the Pi4 for better performance.

There is many options available for creating a VPN server. I chose OpenVPN due to it's popularity and stability. Set up on my own server I can connect to my home network for many different applications or to take care of the system from abroad.
